The first type is used for mineral wool and expanded polystyrene, and the second for any type of material of internal and external heat insulation.

The facade adhesive is the basis of the facade

The main use of the facade adhesive is the installation of heat insulation tiles (expanded polystyrene, mineral wool). The facade adhesive can also be used as a base for the subsequent plaster layer, installation of ceramic granite, facade tiles, reinforcing layer for a “wet facade”.

When choosing a facade adhesive it is necessary to consider the effective properties of the product:

  • Adhesion. Perhaps the most important and universal indicator of the quality of the facade adhesive. The higher the value, the stronger the adhesion of the material to the surface.
  • Adhesive plasticity. For solid materials this parameter can be minimal. For soft heat insulation materials it is necessary to choose the adhesive with sufficient ductility.
  • Vapor permeability. The low water vapor permeability enables the accumulation of moisture at the border of the layer. As a result, the crude design creates cold bridges in these areas.
  • Water resistance. Pay attention to this characteristic in regions with high relative humidity.
  • Frost resistance. This characteristic is important in northern regions.

Dry adhesive mixtures are divided into specialized and universal adhesives.

Specialized adhesive mixtures are suitable for a particular type of heat insulation materials, for example adhesive for expanded polystyrene. Meanwhile universal adhesives are suited for a wide range of applications, for example, to make a reinforcing layer or for the bonding of the facade with heat insulation materials.

Universal adhesives are usually a little more expensive, but with a universal approach to heat insulation it is possible to significantly save on construction works, which reduces the cost as a whole.

The facade adhesive should be used according to the recommendations marked on the packaging. Thus you get maximum efficiency of thermal insulation and durability of the whole structure.
